Bet structure explained
The Trixie bet is similar to the patent, but without the singles.
The Trixie bet consists of four bets on three different selections.
As you can see in the image below the trixie bet has free doubles consisting of:
Three Doubles
- Selections A & B
- Selections B & C
- Selections C & D

The Treble and structuring your Trixie
The 4th bet consists of a treble of the three selections:
Selections A, B & C
Therefore, in order to obtain a return from the Trixie bet, you must have at least two selections win. Unless your bet was placed on at each way. If you place this bet each Way, then you must have two selections win or place to receive a return.

A Bettor would typically opt for a Trixie Bet if they even felt confident about the bet returning two winning selections or they wanted to use a higher level of stake for their unit stake.
Due to the Trixie only being four bets largest steaks only cost around 60% of what a patent would.
A £1 Trixie would cost £4, however, a £1 Patent would cost £7.
